Quote of the Day

My name is Pride. I am a cheater.
I cheat you of your God-given destiny… because you demand your own way.
I cheat you of contentment… because you “deserve better than this.”
I cheat you of knowledge… because you already know it all.
I cheat you of healing… because you’re too full of me to forgive.
I cheat you of holiness… because you refuse to admit when you’re wrong.
I cheat you of vision … because you’d rather look in the mirror than out a window.
I cheat you of genuine friendship… because nobody’s going to know the real you.
I cheat you of love… because real romance demands sacrifice.
I cheat you of greatness in heaven… because you refuse to wash another’s feet on earth.
I cheat you of God’s glory… because I convince you to seek your own.
My name is Pride. I am a cheater.
You like me because you think I’m always looking out for you. Untrue.
I’m looking to make a fool of you.
God has so much for you, I admit, but don’t worry…
If you stick with me
You’ll never know.

Grandma Bonnie

Pray for my grandma. She was sent home with hospice.
Grandma Bonnie died this afternoon and the funeral will be in Eugene, OR on Wed. May the Lord always keep her in perfect peace and walk with her every day. She is in heaven now with the Almighty Savior and her beloved Burl. We love you Grandma.

Verse for today... some pondering as well

"You, my Lord, are the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. You will not grow tired or weary, and Your understanding no one can fathom. You give strength to the weary and increase the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but when I hope in You, O, Lord, my strength will be renewed. I will soar on wings like eagles; I will run and not grow weary, I will walk and not faint." Isa. 40:28-31
How awesome is the thought that God is incontrol when we think we are. We seem to think that it is only when we "need" Him. He holds everything and we are always on His strength. We just need to look up to see who is holding us. Any anxiety of life is not too big for God. Can we trust Him and praise Him in everything, good and bad. It is easy in the good times, can we give Him honor when He doesn't seem there?! The reality is that He has never left us and still call us His Child.

First Day of Pre-K

Isn't he cute in his uniform?! This was taken this last Thursday on his first day of Pre-K. He is soooo grown up!

My weekend...

People love to laugh at my expense... mostly because there are times I have "moments". This particular one involves me in the back seat of a cop car. Need I say more. Well, my friend and I picked up Jonah from school and had the 3 kids in the car and the gas guage said 1/4 tank so we headed to the gas station... we were not even a New York city block away from the gas station and the guage went down to empty to full and then the car died. In the middle of the intersection... my friend had to push the van and a nice animal patrol guy stopped and helped. Luckily a cop came by and took me to a gas station and then back to the van. My first time running out of gas and I get to ride in the back of a cop car with my friend and son laughing as my head bobbed in the back seat. Nice huh?!
Stop laughing...
Stop laughing!!!
Ok, so I am laughing still too.

Difference between cats and dogs...

A dog says, "You pet me, you feed me, you shelter me, you love me, you must be God."
A cat says, "You pet me, you feed me, you shelter me, you love me, I must be God."

On a serious note... "These God-given traits of cats ("you exist to serve me") and dogs ("I exist to serve you") are often similar to the theological attitudes we have in our view of God and our relationship to him."
- Dr. Gerald Robison & Bob Sjogren (Dog and Cat Theology)

Ouch

To spare you all I did not take a picture of my latest "moment". I am a total clutz if you do not know me. Yesterday I tried to loose a toe or two and caught it on a little metal wheel on the chest at the end of our bed. For some reason I think I broke it... it is black and blue. oops. Don't laugh at me!! No really you can stop any time now...

Got Milk?

Yes, this is milk all over her tray. She got her sippy cup to where it would drain out onto her tray and then splash in the milk... that's my girl!
