Go to the Mattresses

Yes folks, Abby is now pulling herself up to standing. She was in her crib last night at 10:30 pm screaming and I turned on the light and there she was standing in her crib screaming at the door. This morning I opened her door and there she was standing in her crib smiling at me. Me thinks she is proud of herself. :) Time to lower the matress.

Christmas Day!

Abby

Jonah

Playing around with tree pictures

Christmas eve we had Shannon, her boyfriend, and the Powell family here. We had a great relaxing time. It was fun. Jonah and Taylor are to the point that they go in Jonah's room and shut the door and play. It rocks. They entertain eachother. We went to the Christmas eve candle light service. It went really well. Unfortunately I was still sick and could not even sing a note, so I did not have to sing this year. Then when we got home Jonah sprinkled the reindeer food in the back yard and then the kids went to bed. James and I exchanged presents. Ok, he had me go on a photo scavenger hunt for 2 of my presents. It was fun! He made me this great book with some of my photo's. My boss was incahoots with him. They got me good! I was almost boohooing.

We had a great Christmas. Other than me still not feeling well... it was good. The kids got up and Jonah was eating breakfast really slow. So, we hurried him up and opened presents. James and I did ours Christmas eve so we could watch the kids open up their presents. Abby figured out how to open gifts. Smart little thing. Jonah was sooo excited about each gift. Merry Christmas to you all.

Yet another cup o joe

Good morning to all of you folk who are up and running early. Thanks to the Princess Abby I am up and enjoying a nice BIG cup of coffee. The kids are doing great. Just getting over some colds and I on the other hand am getting over bronchitis. We are on #2 antibiotic and starting to finally quit coughing and on the up and up! Yea!! Mommy's don't have time to get sick. Thankfully James has not aquired this yet, but Jonah is feeling good he just has a little cough. Tis the Season!
We are on the Christmas count down! Jonah's favorite baby sitter (Sara) stayed with the kids and Jonah's friend Jake while we went to James' office party. She baked cookies with them and left some reindeer food to sprinkle on the lawn on Christmas eve. It is so cute... it is Oatmeal with glitter in it. It is supposed to sparkle in the moon light and help the reindeer come to the house. So, Christmas eve night we will probably do that. Thank you Sara for a new tradition. Jonah knows that Santa is not real, but he thinks the idea is pretty cool. :)
We are almost ready for Christmas. We have wrapping to do, but all of the presents are bought and in some cases finally sent. I think next year we will do all online shopping. The post office is a Zoo!
Oh, good news... no we are not pregnant. We finally made the plunge and invested in my professional digital camera! yea!! I have been having a blast!! My boss wanted all of us to have our own equiptment (eventually) and so it is ours! Yea!! I have been so excited and taking pictures of everything. Crazy. I really want to get into buildings and stuff, but we will see how this all unfolds. Please don't get me wrong, I want to still do weddings, but I want to do some buildings on my own and stuff.
Well, my cup is almost empty. Ok, it has been empty for a while. :) So I will go and refresh my cup (gotta love Senseo!) and you all have a fantastic day!
Merry Christmas Friends and Family.

Fun Pictures

Here are some pictures of some friends I took down town St. Charles. I did not ask permission to put pictures of their faces on our blog, but these two are sweet.

Gift

It was about to begin- God's plan for humanity, crafted in the halls of heaven and carried out on the plains of earth. Only Holiness could have imagined it. Only divinity could have enacted it. Only righteousness could have endured it. And once the plan began, there would be no turning back. The creator knew it. The son knew it. And soon, earth itself would witness heaven's majesty alighting on the planet.
It all happened in a most remarkable moment... a moment like no other. for through that segment of time a spectacular thing occurred.
God became a man. Divinity arrived. Heaven opened herself and placed her most precious one in a human womb.
The omnipotent, in one instant, became flesh and blood. The one who was larger than the universe became a microscopic embryo. And he who sustains the world with a word chose to be dependent upon the nourishment of a young girl.
God had come near.
~Max Lucado, "The Gift for All People"
As we approach Christmas, let us remember God and the beginning. How God planned the birth of our Savior. That in itself is a miracle. But remember that that is not where the story of our Savior and Salvation ends, only where it begins. Merry Christmas.

The Birds

Have any of you seen "The Birds" by Alfred Hichcock?! Well, today we lived it!! These freaky birds were everywhere all over our yard, roof and neighbors yards. AHHH! I am not sure what they are (birds, I know) but they are everywhere. You would not have believed me, so I took pictures to prove it. I was a little disturbed. ALL of the dots are birds. I could not get a full picture of all of them, but at least you can see how thick the were.

Parent Teacher Conference

We had Jonah's parent teacher conference today. He is doing really well. He is doing exceptionally well in the "desires to lean", "using words to express feelings", and "talking with other Children". He is up to date on all of his colors, shapes and numbers. He is working on the routine thing... remembering to put his back pack away and push in his chair. He gets too busy and just forgets. :) His teacher said that he is a joy in class and he is very enthusiastic and makes her laugh all the time. He apparently really gets them going during bible class. One time in particular he was telling them that Jonah (in the bible) was really naughty and if his mom (Me) knew she would put him in a time out. I think that is really cute because God did put Jonah (from the bible) in a long time-out! That's our boy!
